1.    Variety of Injection Molding Machines (IMM): With a range of 27 to 650 tons of clamping force, Calico can cater to diverse product specifications and volumes.

2.    Assembly Services: Assembly processes, including Mechanical Assembly, Heat Staking, Sonic Welding, and Spin Welding, support the molding process, providing comprehensive solutions to customers.

3.    Material Testing: With in-house equipment such as a DSC Crystallinity Tester, Calico ensures quality control in terms of material properties.

1.    High Volume Production: Given the range of IMM equipment, Calico can produce high volumes of many different products efficiently.

2.    Complex Geometry and Detailed Features: When challenging geometry and critical features are a must Calico is up to the task.  Calico's tooling development focuses on critical part features.  Customer designed 3D part models and product prints are evaluated and modified with customer feedback to ensure manufacturing feasibility.   

3.    Material and Color Flexibility: With injection molding, there is a broad selection of materials and colors to choose from. Product materials have various physical and chemical properties, allowing manufacturers to choose the best fit for a particular product's requirements.  Calico's ability to test its materials ensures the optimal selection of materials according to product requirements.

QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE

Quality Control and Assurance are vital components of Calico’s comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS). Calico QMS system is upheld to comply with our IATF-16949 Certification and ISO-9001 Certification.  Within our system, specific mechanisms are incorporated to facilitate effective quality control and assurance practices. These mechanisms include inspections, testing, audits, and corrective actions, which collectively aim to uphold the desired level of quality throughout the product or service lifecycle.

Inspections play a crucial role in quality control and assurance. They involve systematic examination, measurement, or evaluation of products, components, or processes to verify their compliance with predefined quality criteria. Inspections can occur at different stages, such as incoming inspections for raw materials and components, in-process inspections during manufacturing, and final inspections before product release. By conducting thorough inspections, Calico can identify any deviations or non-conformities, allowing for timely corrective actions and preventing defective or substandard products from reaching customers. In-house inspection capabilities include a Programmable Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), Keyence (2D Image System), Moisture Analyzer and Shadow Optical Comparator.

Testing is another essential element of quality control and assurance within a QMS. It involves subjecting products, materials, or processes to various tests to evaluate their performance, functionality, durability, safety, or other relevant characteristics. Testing can encompass a wide range of methods, such as physical, chemical, electrical, or performance testing, depending on the nature of the product or service. Through various in-house testing capabilities such as Tensile & Compression Testing, Vertical and Horizontal Force Tester, Various Leak Testing systems and DSC Crystallinity Testing.  Calico can ensure that their offerings meet or exceed the specified quality standards, as well as regulatory requirements or industry benchmarks.

Audits are integral to quality control and assurance as they provide a systematic and independent assessment of an organization's processes, systems, and practices. Internal audits are conducted within the organization to evaluate adherence to established quality policies, procedures, and standards. External audits may also occur, involving third-party certification bodies or regulatory authorities to assess compliance with industry-specific regulations or internationally recognized standards. Audits help identify areas for improvement, identify non-compliance issues, and ensure the overall effectiveness of Calicos quality management system. CALVIN SHANNON

For over 22 years, I've had the privilege of serving as the President and CEO of Calico Precision Molding, a journey that has been both my passion and life's work. In this role, I've overseen all aspects of our operation.  However, my leadership style goes beyond titles; I lead by example and believe that every member of our team plays an integral role in our success.

As a critical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities, I've found that fostering a spirit of unity by brainstorming solutions, troubleshooting challenges, and supporting team members promotes a thriving culture for all of our employees.

I am deeply committed to collaboration, not only with our valued customers but also with our dedicated employees. I believe in the power of teamwork and have a big heart for our workforce, who I consider our greatest asset. Being generous and thoughtful towards our employees is a cornerstone of my leadership philosophy.

As I reflect on my journey, it's clear that my role as President and CEO is more than just a job; it's a responsibility to nurture a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. JOHN SOULLIERE

Serving Calico Precision Molding and all of our customers since 2012, I lead our cross-functional APQP Team toward assured success of our highest quality standards.  As VP of Engineering, I mentor our Engineering Program Managers and Quality Assurance team to be the best they can be at adding value to our custom molding industry.  Driven by a strong desire to help our customers’ design concepts become a manufacturable reality, I am a Product Realization Manager at heart with over 30 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, program management, procurement & supplier development.  This diversity of expertise in developing assemblies & components of engineered plastics, including over-molding inserts, with automated assembly & test validation solutions, delves across numerous industries, including Automotive, Industrial, Aerospace / Defense, Packaging, Marine, and others.

I have a passion for developing new products as well as a profitable business, utilizing continuous improvement to be competitive in our ever-evolving global market. I strive to teach and promote synergistic teamwork by creating a positive environment, while encouraging creative brainstorming and personal growth.  Our success at Calico truly lies in paying attention to the details and the personal relationships we build to last on trust.  This is why we exercise our discipline to the proven systems we continue to develop further at Calico.  We enjoy applying our technical leadership & win-win negotiation skills, to drive toward our shared success, profitability, and enduring business growth for both our customers and our strategic supply chain alike.

I am Ted Hayes, a seasoned professional with a 22-year career as the Vice President of Sales at Calico Precision Molding. As a Managing member and part owner of Calico, I have been an integral part of the company's success, contributing not only to its growth but also to the fostering of a family-like atmosphere within the organization.

At the core, my approach to leadership is a genuine passion for mentoring and encouraging my direct reports. I believe in the power of a collaborative and supportive work environment, which has played a significant role in the cohesive and high-performing team at Calico.

My role involves the strategic management of sales for current products and services. This encompasses planning and coordination of sales calls on existing customers, aligning these efforts with the company's business, technology, and customer service strategies. My responsibilities extend to negotiating prices, terms, and delivery with both current and potential customers, ensuring the achievement of sales and profitability objectives outlined in the business plan.

I am also on the lookout for opportunities to expand Calico's market presence. I try to identify potential customers, maximizing market penetration in assigned regions and countries. Additionally, I collaborate closely with the product development team, contributing to the design of customer-specific requirements and managing product planning and development activities to drive increased market penetration and overall business results.

My ability to identify key contacts within existing and new customer networks, along with my knack for building long-term relationships, has been instrumental in Calico's sustained growth.

As a forward-thinking leader, I actively contribute to developing short and long-term business plans for the market. My insights, consistent with market needs and corporate strategic plans, play a pivotal role in steering Calico Precision Molding toward continued success in the ever-evolving business landscape.

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

KEVIN ARNOLD

I am Kevin Arnold and have had the privilege of serving as the Quality Assurance Manager at Calico Precision Molding since September 2016. I hold a Bachelor of Administration from the University of Northwestern Ohio. In this role, I play a crucial part in upholding and advancing the quality standards within our company.

My primary responsibility revolves around developing and safeguarding quality standards for the diverse range of products that Calico Precision Molding manufactures. Before any of our products reach the hands of customers my dedicated team of Inspectors and I meticulously assess products to ensure they meet the stringent requirements set by the company, and our customers, comply with industry standards, and are free from defects

Essentially, my role as a Quality Assurance Manager is to guarantee that our products are not only safe to use but also operate seamlessly, maintain uniformity, and adhere to all specified criteria. It's a task that requires attention to detail, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.

I am fortunate to work alongside a talented and supportive team that shares the same dedication to quality. Together, we strive to achieve our quality goals and ensure that Calico Precision Molding remains compliant with all relevant quality regulations. For over 17 years, I've had the privilege of serving as an Administration Supervisor at Calico, a role that has become the cornerstone of my career. Overseeing all aspects of Human Resources, I've found great satisfaction in providing opportunities and helping individuals join the Calico family.

What makes Calico such a special place for me is the culture that our leadership has cultivated. It's a culture of care and support that makes my job of hiring and nurturing talent remarkably fulfilling. In the midst of the daily challenges that come with being in the manufacturing industry, Calico stands as a successful and impactful company with a unique family atmosphere.

One of my greatest accomplishments during my tenure has been implementing a comprehensive Human Resources system for Calico, enabling us to manage all aspects of HR and payroll seamlessly. ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER

STEVE BALBAUGH

I have been working in the plastic injection molding industry since 1995 and came to Calico as an Engineering Program Manager in December of 2013. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University (formerly GMI). I enjoy the process of developing solutions that are not obvious and require some level of out-of-the-box thinking. My personality allows me to keep the work atmosphere light and comfortable, with a sense of fun and approachability. Beyond that calm exterior, my attention to detail and analytical mind have a proven track record of success with difficult products.

From assisting a customer with part design to make it manufacturable, to reliable tooling concepts and innovative gaging solutions, Calico thrives on challenges. Our engineering group works in all phases of a program’s life from quoting to tool build, initial samples to customer approval, and continuous improvement or engineering changes once production has started. There is no “throwing it over the wall” here to let production go it alone after product launch. We all work together, pushing to excel and consistently exceed expectations.
